I hustled (walked faster) through the finish line only because the clock read 39:47 as I approached the finish line. I thought it was important that I break 40 mins on my first 5k WALK. I did have Julia on my shoulders for 1 mile of this race. Stacey, next week I will crush this time by at least 5 minutes. Holding that steady rate of improvement will have me at a sub 10 minute 5k within 2 months. See ya in Aromas.

Tyler, Dave actually walked in the race, the WHOLE WAY. He crossed the Finish Line carrying his shoes. It was another funny moment, because he walked up to the line and then kind of made this little run/hop movement to get himself over the line, as if he'd been running the whole time.

But ... you cannot expect him to RUN. Swimming is where he needs to be focusing all of his energies right now. If he continues at his current rate of progressions (and why wouldn't he), he'll be swimming 500m in 30 seconds within the year, and will be more than ready for Rio in 2016.


P.S. Do you like the Daniel Booone hat I'm wearing on my head? I made it myself from a dead squirrel I found on the street, during the run. I'm really hurt. I thought for sure you'd have complimented me on it.

We almost pooped our collective pants when we saw this picture. Just by looking at it, it would appear as though Big Dave actually ran in the race. Groundbreaking as this would have been, we spent a solid 20 minutes looking for flying pigs in the background. Then we came to our senses, and realized he was just there to support his blondies. Still important, still commendable...just not as groundbreaking. We'll take it nonetheless - nice work, Big Guy (and everyone else).

Great run everyone!! We stayed around for the awards and MANY went out to a CrossFit Delray Beach runner. Very impressive and way to show how awesome we are!!! Gretchen, your pictures once again are beautiful. We have such a great thing going and people definitely saw it today!! Have a great rest of the weekend and see you all Monday!!
