LIZ DUFFY
WATCH OUT BOYS - SHE'LL CHEW YOU UP:)
This cutie joined team CFDRB on March 30th of this year. She was timid, and shy, and totally in awe of what she perceived to be the "beasts" around her. And now, only 6 months later, we are totally, and enviably in awe of her! Liz marched into our 10 AM Women's Class on Goal Setting Day - and confidently pronounced that she would get her KIPPING PULL UPS by AUGUST 30th. We are proud to announce that LIZ has tackled this goal, among others, and continues to perform consistently - utilizing excellent skills and techniques in her Rx WODS! You will always see Liz staying after class working on her weaknesses, and encouraging others to do the same. This girl sees no limitations - only opportunities. Thank you Liz, you are a beloved and inspiring member of our team. Keep up the great work!
CROSSFIT GAMES 2010
SOUTHEAST REGIONAL QUALIFIERS UPDATE
From Left: Micah Nickerson, Jessica Till, Ian Harris, Katie Lewis, Max El Hag, and Mike Marcus
It was an exciting weekend for CFDRB at the Southeast Regional Qualifiers in Jacksonville, FL! Unlike last year, where only Regionals occurred, earlier this year CFDRB had to compete at the Florida Sectionals to earn spots to compete in this years' ultra-competetive event. Both Dom Paonessa and Aline LaBar qualified in the top 15 at the Sectionals and competed in the individual events this weekend. When it was all said and done, Paonessa finished in 9th Place overall out of 64 male competitors and LaBar ranked 38th out of 57 women competitors. An awesome showing by both athletes who proved to be well-deserving of their qualified spots this weekend. Alternately, qualified athlete Katie Lewis opted to forfeit her hard-earned individual spot and instead join the Affiliate Team in hopes of helping them protect their first place team title from last year, a title she herself helped win! Lewis joined Micah Nickerson, Jessica Till, Ian Harris, Max El Hag, and Mike Marcus to form the unstoppable, super-team CFDRB. For a second year in a row, Team CFDRB placed FIRST overall and not only brought home the coveted "TIKI" trophy, but also earned a spot to compete next month at the CrossFit Games 2010 national finals in California! For more details on the exact rankings per event, please visit the CrossFit Games link HERE. To all our Coaches, Members, friends, and family who have shared their love and support of our athletes this weekend, THANK YOU! We look forward to your continued energy, enthusiasm, and team spirit as we prepare for the nationals next month!

This is Dom. We call him "Diesel D". He's the nicest badass CrossFitter you'll ever meet. Dom came to us with an impressive athletic background: he played D-1 Football at Morehead State University (half back), was an avid weightlifter and also a track athlete. Introduced to us by his good buddy CHUCKIE, Dom embraced CrossFit less than a year ago and has attacked every opportunity to learn, practice, and get better in a really short period of time. He got his first taste of CF competition at the "Iron Curtain" (Orlando, FL 2009) where he came in strong overall in the Men's Rx Division. Fueled by competition, he trained hard and threw his hat in the ring at this years' CF Games Sectionals. Out of 160 Men, he placed 9th overall which won him a spot at the upcoming "Dirty South 2010" CF GAMES REGIONALS (May 29th, Jacksonville, FL)! You can see Dom's name all over our house leader board; here's a quick snapshot of Dom's in-house records:
Cindy: 27 Rounds
Angie: 14:29
Annie: 5:27
Grace: 1:57
Linda: 16:35
Nicole: 119
30 Muscle Ups: 6:35
JT: 10:37
FGB: 398
CFT: 1005
1RM DL: 564 / 1RM C&J: 255 / 1RM OHS: 235 / 1RM SNATCH: 195
Not only is Diesel D a well rounded CrossFitter, he's an active participant and contributor in all events associated with CFDRB. Be sure to come out and support DOM at the CF Games Regionals this May - he is working hard to represent team CFDRB!
THANKS DOM!

KATIE LEWIS
This is Katie Lewis: Proud member of team CFDRB since our early days in '08 - and longstanding force-to-be-reckoned with in the Triathalon community! Before CF, Katie was ranking top 3 in her age group in Triathalons; she was working her way up in the overall rankings with a few top 10 finishes! For her first race season incorporating CROSSFIT training, Katie finished FIRST consistently in her AGE GROUP and began ranking in the TOP 5 OVERALL as well! She is most thankful to have not been plagued with the endurance and running-related injuries she had suffered in seasons past. She credits her shift to CROSSFIT ENDURANCE methods (fewer hours / miles - more CrossFit / interval training) for keeping her injury free - and still making steady gains in speed! Katie will be representing CFDRB this month at the CF GAMES - SOUTH FLORIDA SECTIONALS competition (3/13-3/14). Let's take a look at a snapshot of Katie's CrossFit profile:
MIKE "CHUCKIE" MARCUS!
THIS IS MIKE. BUT WE CALL HIM CHUCKIE. HE EARNED HIS NICK NAME VERY EARLY ON IN HIS CF CAREER; HE HAS A TENDENCY TO LOSE HIS LUNCH (OR BREAKFAST OR DINNER) DURING PRETTY MUCH EVERY WOD. CHUCKIE WAS THE VERY FIRST MEMBER TO SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE AND STAYED COMMITTED AND TRUE TO OUR PROGRAM SINCE DAY ONE. HE DID BURPEES IN THE PARKING LOT, PUSH UPS IN THE PUDDLES, AND PULL UPS UNDER CONSTRUCTION! HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN STRONG AND ATHLETIC, BUT THROUGH CF CHUCKIE HAS TRANSFORMED INTO ONE OF OUR MOST WELL-ROUNDED, COMPETENT, AND COMPETITIVE ATHLETES! HE WAS THE FIRST TO MASTER THE MUSCLE UP - AND IS THE CURRENT HOUSE RECORD HOLDER FOR MAX. NUMBER OF CONSECUTIVE KIPPING PULL UPS (45)! HE HAS AN INFECTIOUS SMILE, A GRACIOUS AND GIVING PERSONALITY, AND IS AN IMPRESSIVE ATHLETE TO ADMIRE. HE DOESN'T SET THE BAR - HE RAISES IT.
THANKS CHUCKIE!
WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE YOU ON OUR TEAM!
